POLICE have reopened a road near Grove after two cars crashed in icy conditions.
Denchworth Road was closed both ways this morning following the crash, which is thought to have happened close to the Brook Lane bridge.
Police shut the road while it was treated with grit.
The closure stretched between Main Street in Grove and Brook Lane in Denchworth.
Oxfordshire County Council salted the county's roads twice yesterday in preparation for ice, but Denchworth Road is not covered by its normal gritting route.
Our #gritting team will be out today. Wintry showers have been forecast for later. Take care on the roads as black ice may form tonight and the early hours of Monday morning pic.twitter.com/lp7AoIpQgo

Council spokesman Paul Smith said: "The gritters were out on their normal routes overnight in the small hours of Sunday and the again at about 7pm on Sunday.
"At the request of the police we have gritted this road this morning to assist recovery vehicles who are dealing with this accident."
It is not yet clear if anyone was injured in the crash.
Mr Smith added: "The council grits all A-roads, B-roads and some C-roads.
"This amounts to 1,200 miles countywide on one standard gritting run.
"This is comparable to what else councils in England do. Highways England covers the A34, M40 and A43."
