Incorrect information forced Oxford City Council to replace a street nameplate, it was revealed today.
The council had a Kenilworth Road sign made up instead of one for Kenilworth Avenue in East Oxford.
The mistake cost £126 to rectify.
Vale of the White Horse District Council said the name Limetree Close in Grove was missed off two signs, which cost £124 to fix.
The mistakes emerged after a freedom of information request.

"Two councils in Oxfordshire have had to pay to fix street signs because of errors, it has been revealed.
Oxford City Council had to pay £126, excluding VAT, in February last year when a Kenilworth Road sign was made instead of one for Kenilworth Avenue.
Vale of White Horse council said the name Limetree Close in Grove was missed off two signs, costing £124 to fix.
The figures have been revealed after a Freedom of Information request was made to councils. "
