A pub will reopen properly today, after its new landlords rescued it from closure last year.
The Fox and Hounds, which nestles beneath White Horse Hill in Uffington, has been refitted by Michael Lowry and Janet Kirk, after they bought the freehold.
Since last autumn, drinkers have had to decamp from room to room as the pub went over a complete makeover. Its new look will be unveiled today with an Irish-themed party starting with the Grand National at 4.15pm.
Mrs Kirk, pictured right with Liz Bond, added: “We love the area, and are very glad we moved here.”
She said work would start again in October 2011 to build three bed and breakfast rooms on the back of the pub.
