FOLLOWING on from our birthday last week we are very excited to announce the launch of our new website sewveryvintage.co.uk which has been some months in the planning.

It became apparent quite early on that some of our customers are tourists and followers of vintage and vintage-inspired gifts and crafts. Therefore, it became our mission to take our business further afield, as we are often asked for the website address in the shop.

As well as in the shop and online, customers will be able to find Hayley Shaw's frocks and clothing by Frocks in Swing Time. You can purchase 1920s-style Gatsby frocks and a 1950s collection of dresses, with the obligatory petticoat underneath for dramatic effect.

The Button Room will have a large selection of handmade jewellery, designed with vintage in mind and varied items by local artisans. Devon Masters of the Button Room is an avid collector and sells instore and online curios, ephemera, china, beautiful linen, preloved vintage jewellery, typewriters and anything quirky.

We offer a unique range of stunning handbags and if your desire is to carry a swan, flamingo or The George, we have just the thing.

Madeleine Steele also has an extensive range of baby and children's clothes, from sausage dog reversible pinafore dresses to a hot air balloon romper suit; the quirky continues. Craft-wise she stocks clock kits, lampshade kits, ribbons, buttons, fabric fat quarter bundles and an excellent selection of craft books.

As well as launching the new website, Madeleine and Devon have been busy creating in the Sew Very Vintage Studio. Some of the pieces made recently are collage jewellery covered mirrors and jewellery boxes, commission jewellery covered pictures, using the client's own images as a centrepiece. Mirrors range in price from £35 up to £200 depending on size and pictures £35 to £50. Also hot off the press are Powertex-covered lamps with handmade flowers and hand-covered lampshades in pretty floral colours. No doubt local people have spotted Wallingford's mermaid who resides outside the shop, whose name is to be revealed in the next article. The creation was made by Madeleine who also runs workshops which you can book online.

One Facebook reviewer recently commented: "Absolutely beautiful shop and lovely friendly staff." Finally, we would like to send our many congratulations to Madeleine and Duncan on their wedding and wish them the very best for their future.
