Sir, I feel I must take your correspondent, Rodney Davis, to task for not understanding the location and sequencing of the traffic lights at the Lamb crossroads in Wallingford.
The lights coming westwards on High Street must be nearly 100 yards before the crossroads and the only inconvenience is caused when traffic, particularly lorries and buses, is turning right or left from the High Street and creates a delay in the following traffic that has passed the lights when green.
The next sequence is on High Street going east so this only affects the traffic turning right as it can turn left or carry straight on easily.
Cameras would clearly be a very expensive solution to a problem that barely exists. Tolerance and patience are attributes lacking in many present-day motorists.
