The last thing store giant Morrisons wants is to present a planning application that is rejected by councillors.
So, for the past few months, it has been fine-tuning its plans for a new store on the Hithercroft industrial estate in Wallingford.
And South Oxfordshire District Council has been waiting for the final verdict from its consultants on the potential impact of the new store on trade in the town centre.
With so much at stake, it is not surprising that there have been numerous delays before the application is ready to come to committee.
But there has now been enough time for the council and the applicants to get their paperwork in order and we hope there will be no further delays.
nce a decision is made next month, the people of Wallingford and other residents living in the area will be in a much better position to plan their future shopping trips.
