SIR, Apart from the major plans on the Grove airfield site, the local council seems to think that if it approves lots of small developments we will not notice and that they need not bother with the necessary infrastructure improvements needed.

Thus we see the proposal for Chain Hill area, Stockham Farm and the small development between Wantage and Challow all being permitted with no school places available, no enhancement to leisure facilities, no road improvements, despite all the small developments totalling very significant increases in housing and thus population and cars.

Government planning indicates that where a development is for in excess of 5,000 units, there must be associated infrastructure plans.

Our local council seems to think it can ignore this as none of the plans exceed 5,000 units, although the total with the future developments will be in excess of 6,000 units by 2030.

Do our councillors think the electorate is too stupid to see what they are foisting on Wantage and Grove?
