Sir, Reading the letter by Sue Such (May 28) about attendance at Didcot Town Council’s annual meeting, one is led to believe that someone is being seriously reprimanded for non-attendance.
But, no, apparently the councillor in question did turn up but sat in the wrong seat. Am I right in assuming then that if a councillor sits in the wrong seat (as designated by who?), he/she can’t then even ask a question on behalf of the public?
Oh, dear, fancy this councilllor having the temerity to raise issues on behalf of the public whilst sitting in a public seat.
Pardon me for laughing. I’m sure a good comedy scriptwriter would like to get his/her hands on that material.
