Sir, With reference to the feeble excuses of RWE npower to prevent the public enjoying the spectacle of the demolition of the Didcot A cooling towers by destroying them at 3am, I would like to point out that that these cooling towers have been a part of the local skyline and environment since the 1960s and have no doubt helped to contribute hundreds of millions of pounds in profit to npower.
They should do the decent thing and let the public take part in the celebrations surrounding their demolition.
To hide behind “health and safety” is really rather pathetic.
I would like to point readers in the direction of a Facebook page: www.facebook.com/didcotAdemolition I’d encourage everybody to ‘like’ this page and show npower just how much the local community wants and deserves to be part of this major event.
