Sir, Just a note of heartfelt thanks to all the ladies across Oxfordshire who, with loving care, knit tiny articles of clothing and blankets for the John Radcliffe Special Care Baby Unit.
This Christmas season, 1,567 articles were delivered to the unit recently. Staff were overwhelmed and send their grateful thanks.
The project ensures that no unexpected, early arrival has nothing to wear and those in intensive care have hats and booties for use in the incubators.
Layettes are made up from the donations, and given as mementos to mums who find themselves unexpectedly in maternity at this special time.
