Sir, Having lived on the edge of the ‘Green Belt’ to the west of Didcot for many years now and enjoyed the open countryside stretching as far as the eye could see, we have had to witness the sight of the huge Great Western Park housing development creeping ever increasingly towards our back gardens with the noise and dust associated with all the heavy machinery working on the site.
However, with all the ‘doom and gloom’, we have also witnessed a huge sports field being cultivated with the freshly-seeded grass being a welcome sight. We understand that the facilities will have a pavilion serving rugby, football and cricket pitches and also rennis courts. Being only a short stroll from my home, my wife has painted a picture in my mind of me and our dog on a sunny summer’s day sitting watching a cricket match unfold and sharing our egg-and-cress sandwiches.
However, the point of my post is ‘Who will have the use of these excellent facilities and could it put the lid on the not too popular proposed facilities at Hadden Hill?
