Sir, We attended the exhibition of the Didcot Gateway plan on Saturday, January 23.

We looked at the overall plans and have concerns regarding the plans for the whole site.

The Prince of Wales public house and Julian’s garage site - how is this land going to be sold to South Oxfordshire District Council? We cannot see the owners going without some hefty price being paid.

Lydalls Road Nursery School – the proposal is to move this for flats to be built - the residents on the opposite side of the road will be overlooked. Also will the proposed nursery at the far end of Lydalls Road have the same amount of land as of now?

The proposal of making Lydalls Road two-way traffic, as it is only wide enough for one lane of traffic and the proposal is to block off and make this a cul-de-sac at the end of Lydalls Road.

Is there going to be dedicated parking for existing residents? Is there going to be a proposal to give existing residents their own parking spaces – at the moment commuters seem to be using spaces in this road for their own selfish reasons not to pay car parking fees.

The hotel – why eight storeys? This is far too big and will there be enough people to fill such a large building? Why build it here, why not choose another site - ie Site A Didcot Power Station?

We read with interest that there was a food store proposed with around four shops in the site. As Aldi is due to open in April, we heard nothing of this at the meeting.

Have we not got enough food stores in Didcot at the present time?
