Sir, The proposal to have buses running along Station Road is clear stupidity and poses severe safety issues.

To have such a ludicrous proposal, supports my criticisms over the years of how the Orchard Centre has been developed and the failings to many of the ‘users’.

The whole development has been crisis managed. The issue of raised cobblestones has been remedied. This issue should never have arisen.

The sheer gradient it was developed on is a disadvantage to many users including the elderly, those with very young children and also those with disabilities.

The cinema is used by many people including those with young children and now there’s the proposal to run buses in close proximity – complete madness.

The issue of parking needs to be addressed properly.

From what I can gather, in total, parking will cater for approximately 250 at the new development plus about 350 in a multi-storey. Yet Didcot is expanding to about 30,000 people plus the new shops.

Where are people supposed to park? Our roads locally are clogged already. It seems to me it is the tail wagging the dog. The tail being the developers.
