Sir, I wish to express my frustration that the half-sunken wreck approximately 200 yards upstream from the Wallingford moorings continues to blight any riverside walk.
It has sat there well over a year since it sank during last year's floods and faces the riverside campsite. There has been no sign of any owner since then and I cannot understand why it remains despite the best efforts of many local people to have it shifted.
As a daily dog walker along that stretch of the river, I along with a great many others have contacted both SODC and the Environment Agency on numerous occasions to request its removal, but they each evade responsibility with the result that it remains a serious and dangerous blot on our lovely riverscape with its rotting wood and tank containing diesel.
I do feel that this matter now merits urgent attention from the appropriate authority and I hope that there will be no further delay in the removal of what has become a very dilapidated boat.
