Sir, Labour councillor Margaret Davies (Didcot Herald, April 22), has forgotten that the Labour party on the town council voted against trying an experiment traffic system in the Cow Lane tunnel.
When I was a county councillor, I, with the other two Conservative councillors, had managed to get the county council to try this out – if the town council agreed. This would have stopped some traffic using Hitchcock Way, therefore thinning out traffic going towards the roundabout. All we asked was to try. It would have been at no cost to the town council.
