Sir – The prospects of a relief road in Didcot is too little too late.

I went to go to the Orchard Centre – traffic was backed up from the Jubilee Roundabout back to approximately Cow Lane.

Later I went down Hitchcock Way and again traffic was backed up from the Jubilee roundabout, past the Orchard Centre junction. The relief road will not alleviate the problems above nor will it alleviate the massively increased traffic coming from the Harwell direction.

Had the development of Didcot been planned properly, we would not be having the problems we are now – traffic, parking etc.

The northern perimeter road should have gone across Abingdon Road thus taking / keeping traffic out of Didcot.

Didcot is being snarled by traffic coming in from all directions.

What really is needed, is realistic parking, such as a huge multi-storey possibly supported by a park-and-ride into the town; residents parking permits allocated etc.

It is ludicrous to have allowed mass developments, then decide afterwards the infrastructures are not suitable.
