Sir – Another year passes and the nation honours its war dead and rightly so.

Meanwhile, the MOD continues to deny military veterans who served the country’s interests from the ending of National Service, 1962 until April 1975, by denying the payment of a pro-rata pension for services rendered.

One of the richest countries in the world seemingly can’t afford to pay pro-rata pensions to those who served in the Malayan Emergency, the Brunei revolt, the Indonesian ‘confrontation’, the Radfan, the Aden Protectorate and early Northern Ireland operations, but the USA and our continental allies can it seems.

Why is this? Answers on a postcard to the usual place please.
