Sir – On Friday, January 15, more than 500 people packed Benson Parish Hall to discuss the disastrous planning proposal for Littleworth Road, now before South Oxfordshire District Council.

But where were our elected representatives district councillors Bloomfield and Pullen and county councillor Mark Gray? Not even an apology for their absence, as far as we know. Are the views of 500 people of so little interest to them that they feel they can ignore us?

What is their role if not to listen to and represent us, the people who elect them?
