  Sir, Like many on the ‘cause for concern’ list of the Scores on the Doors initiative, we feel aggrieved. The policy, in general, is a great introduction, indeed, we applaud a policy enabling the
  public to obtain information on eating establishments, but please make sure this information is current and accurate.

  Sir, The headline in the Oxford Mail screamed ‘Named and shamed’. The Herald Series went for the slightly more conservative ‘Concern over food check’.

  Sir, I paid my first visit to the newly reopened Oakley Wood recycling centre to deposit a few recyclables and to have a look at the £700,000 investment. The place is beautifully clean and tidy
  and, at first sight, very well organised, until that is you stand back and look at the problems people have in putting their goods into the bins.

           <description>
  Sir, The report on the front of last week’s Wantage and Grove Herald regarding the plans for Wantage Market Place was comprehensive, but missed a vital point, and, as a result, looks largely like a
  piece of Lib-Dem spin.

  Sir, I am not in the habit of raving` about amateur theatrical productions. However, after seeing a dress rehearsal of Polly Gibson’s ´Peter Pan, I was so enchanted by the staging of this story
  that I wanted to share my enormous enjoyment and urge anyone who has not already booked to buy tickets for this delightful and inventive production at the Corn Exchange, Wallingford, until July 11.

  Sir, I guess that we must all now be aware of the road resurfacing that has been carried out in and around Abingdon. However, I was absolutely astonished that Ock Street was part of this work.
  Those that use this road, the A415, will know that it has gradually deteriorated over the last few months.

           <description>
  Sir, Following last week’s decision by South Oxfordshire District Council to reject planning proposals for developments in Crowmarsh, how refreshing it was to hear another proposed developer,
  presenting to Wallingford Town Council, offer to respect the democratic process of the core strategy and its consultation process. Attempts by Bloor Homes and Wates Developments to steamroller
  applications ahead of this important process are disrespectful to the council, the community and to local democracy.

  Sir, As a local resident of many years, I heartily agree with the comments made by J Preston in the Herald two weeks ago. Why more apartments when there are so many already being built in and
  around Wantage? Also, why not indeed use the already empty premises for restaurants, if they are needed. There are several eating places which cater for visitors etc, for example, the museum which
  supplies very good food and has the advantage of showing folk the history of the town.

           <description>
  Sir, I was surprised and disappointed to read the comments by David Dodds about the roll-out of the new waste service across South Oxfordshire. There have been many problems caused by the way this
  process has been implemented, and I'm afraid that what I hope will be a very useful and effective new service has been marred by what I can only describe as a lamentable introduction.
