Blow for Oxford United as Pittman has surgery after shoulder setback

JON-PAUL Pittman is expected to be out for at least three months after having surgery yesterday.

The Oxford United striker suffered a dislocated shoulder during a game at Accrington Stanley earlier this month.

It was initially thought the 26-year-old would not need to go under the knife, with the club hoping he would return to action next month.

But after the shoulder "popped out" once again, an operation was needed, meaning at least 12 weeks on the sidelines.

U's boss Chris Wilder said: "When something gets dislocated, until the healing process is completed there's always a chance it might happen (again).

"It could be the most innocuous of things, like putting your shirt on, and it can pop out again.

"It's a big blow."

So much for the improved medical facilities Mr Lenegan says he has spent money on, we seem to have more injured and sat watching telly than ever before.

" 12 weeks out "...............Best to get rid at end of season.

We can't carry crocked players any more, and hope they will be great when fit.

Out of contract, out of the club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In this instance, what medical preparation can prevent a dislocated shoulder?

How the **** can Lenegan (sic) and the club prevent a player getting injured who gets his boot entangled in the boot laces of his opponent, falls down on an icy pitch and dislocates his shoulder - please tell me because I am all ears.

Or are you an idiot ?

I cannot believe that anyone would lay blame with Lenagan and his Sports Science for such a freak accident.

How many goals has Pittman scored? How many goals has Constable scored? There's a clear winner.
