TOM Arscott reflected on a much more dynamic London Welsh display after his man-of-the-match display against Cavalieri Prato.

The 25-year-old full back scored two tries and was the Exiles’ most dangerous runner on an afternoon when everything went right for them.

“We stuck to our game plan well and were pretty clinical when we gave ourselves opportunities,” said Arscott.

“It was good to get out there and score some tries.

“We have had a lot of tough games over the season.

“It was nice to be able to cut loose.”

As for his own display, Arscott said: “It is always nice to get over the whitewash a couple of times.

“I was pleased with my performance.

“It was nice to get a chance to run the ball a bit and counter-attack.

“Fortunately there were a few good opportunities and I was able to take them.”

Head coach Lyn Jones added: “Tom had a great game. He was by far the best player on the field.

“For once the sponsors who picked man of the match got it right.”

Arscott admitted Prato had not played well, so wasn’t getting carried away.

He said: “Not taking anything way from Cavalieri, we know that it wasn’t the most difficult game for us.

“It would have been easy to score a few tries and stop scoring almost because we weren’t being clinical.

“It was good that we kept going.

“I don’t think we’ll get ahead of ourselves.”
