LYN Jones was a very satisfied man after London Welsh’s thrashing of Cavalieri Prato.

The Exiles’ head coach praised his side’s free-flowing display that yielded a first bonus-point win of the season.

“We had a good opportunity today to work on things and I thought we really opened Cavalieri up,” said Jones.

“We could have got tied up in a fight with the forwards, but we didn’t do that. We kept the game open.

“They have a decent tight game, but we tried to bring them out of that and we succeeded.

“I am really pleased with the performance as well as the result.”

Jones was pleased with the lack of errors in Welsh’s display.

“Opposition put you under pressure,” said Jones. “How much pressure they exert dictates how many mistakes you make.

“We were quite accurate in our play, which was very pleasing.”

Jones added: “We played into the wind in the first half and didn’t think we would get much purchase from kicking.

“We found a bit of room and it paid to keep on committing them.”

Jones said the performance was a real boost and showed what his squad players can do. “People grow in confidence and they will have another test against Stade Francais next week.

“We had a few boys coming back from injuries, such as Ryan Davis, Dan George and Ed Williamson, who produced solid performances.”
