FOOTBALL: Pedder brace lifts Wantage

Wantage Town returned to the top of the Uhlsport Premier Division with a 3-0 victory away to previous leaders Reading Town.
Matt Pedder scored a brace, with the other goal coming fromTom Melledew.
Abingdon United suffered their seventh defeat in a row when going down 4-1 down at home to Bracknell Town.
It looked like being a draw when Abingdon levelled in the 71st minute through Lewis Noble after Jake Wright had given the visitors a half-time lead.
The game turned in the 82nd minute when Abingdon keeper Chris Rackley punched clear only to be caught from behind. The ref allowed play to continue and while the keeper lay on the ground, Harry Brown scored in off the post .
Thus deflated, Abingdon conceded further goals from Marcus Frederick and Dan Broadbear.
Abingdon Town earned another point in a 1-1 draw with Ascot United. John Mills scored for Abingdon, with Jonathan Bennett equalising late on.
North Leigh United made it another disappointing day for Letcombe with a 11-0 home win in Division 1 West.

A second half hat- trick from midfielder Paul Hedger proved the difference as unbeaten Headington Amateurs went second in Division 1 East with a 4-0 success at Burnham.
Headington led by Shaun Jacob’s seventh-minute goal at the break, Ollie Zaja missing a penalty.
Hedger netted from the penalty spot midway through the second half and added two more to complete his hat-trick in just 15 minutes.
