FOOTBALL: Blewbury blow Marcham out of Shield

Division 3 side Blewbury produced the biggest first-round surprise in the North Berks Charity Shield as James Barrett netted in their 1-0 victory at Division 2 side Marcham.
Didcot Eagles, from Division 5, put Benson Lions to the sword 5-3 on penalties after the sides had drawn 2-2 after extra time.
Sean Beard and Alex Rodman scored for Didcot with John Radcliffe and Todd Street replying for The Lions.
The all-Division 3 tie between Burghclere and Westminster also went to extra time after the pair ended 1-1 after 90 minutes.
Burghclere went on to win 4-2 thanks to two goals from Alistair Baillie and one each from Rob O’Hagan and Darryl Tobin. Dean Staniford and Neil McMahon replied.
Doublesfrom Ben Eltham and Bill MacDonald alongside Tom Broad and Dave Richardson efforts gave Division 2 hosts Wantage Town A a 8-0 win over Division 4 outfit Kennington Athletic.
Goals from Dave Stapleton and Luke Black saw Division 2 side Drayton oust lower league opposition, winning 2-1 at home to Clanfield 85 Res from Division 3, who scored through James Williams.
Radley, also from Division 2, won 5-0 at Division 4 Hagbourne United, thanks to Richard Hathaway and Nino Merola both bagging a brace and a Matt Hardwick effort.
Steventon won another Division 2 v Division 3 clash, 3-2 at home to Hanney United.
Tom Davies, Shane Butlin and Shaun Bray scored their goals, with James Bishop and Graham Carson replying.
A Jack Alder double and Pat Walsh and Rhys Griffiths strikes gave Milton United Res a 4-1 win over Stanford in the Vale. Kristian Howell scored for Stanford.
Benson AFC edged Grove Rangers 3-2, courtesy of a Camden Laver double and a Russell Flower penalty.
Luke Alder and James Beard replied. Andy Alder bagged a brace for Appleton Stars, but they still went down 3-2 at Challow, who triumphed thanks to goals from Simon Parker, James Bonner and Aidan Monaghan.
Meanwhile, Stanford in the Vale Res ran out 3-0 North Berks League first round winners at Crowmarsh Gifford Res in an all-Division 5 encounter.
Tyrone Mayall scored twice, while Matt Pilcher also netted.
