RUGBY: Wallingford's fightback falls just short

Wallingford went down by a 31-25 home defeat by Stow-on-the-Wold in Southern Counties North, despite a late fightback.
Full back Phil Dawes kicked Wallingford ahead with a penalty, but Stow stormed back to lead 19-3.
George Roddan scored the first try, with Nick Cafearo converting.
Cafearo bagged try No 2 and converted another effort from Dave Lane.
Wallingford flanker Kris Blaszko notched from a driving maul.
The hosts had the wind behind them after the break, but Stow went further ahead.
Roddan and Cafearo ran in their second tries, Cafearo converting the latter.
Wallingford secured two bonus points with centre Ralph Smith (2) and No 8 Jermaine Webster going over, Dawes converting the first, but Stow held on.
A depleted Grove lost 20-16 at home to Maidenhead in South West 1 East.
Grove, who were missing Nick Sevier, Roger Sevier, Joe Bellinger and Lee Wright, fell behind to a try from Mykel Parrott, converted by Mike Virgo.
Home wing Harry Carr slotted two penalties, with Virgo landing one in be-tween.
Joe Rivers went over for Maidenhead, but two tries from centre Guy Nicholl put Grove 16-15 ahead.
However, James Emmanuel’s try won it for the visitors.
Andy Lee scored 18 points as Harwell won 53-15 at Winslow and climbed up to fifth position in the Berks Bucks & Oxon Champion-ship table.
Lee bagged two tries and kicked four conversions in a dominant team display.
Mark Baker (2), Jordan Morrison, James Hoskyns-Jones, Gavin Wilde, Will Lane and Tom Nicholas also went over in Harwell’s nine-try demolition job.
Didcot lost 19-5 at Aldermaston, with Ronnie Booth scoring their only try.
