Wantage Town A took advantage of Abingdon being on cup duty by moving to the top of North Berks League Division 2 on goal difference, writes PHIL ANNETS.

They won 2-0 at Radley with goals from James Wilkins and a Liam McCullough penalty.

East Hendred hammered Coleshill United 5-1.

Ricardo Riccio scored twice alongside Adam Wise and Marc Reid efforts plus an own goal, while Shane Blake netted the consolation.

Shaun Bray and Mike Smith scored the goals that gave Steventon a 2-1 win at Marcham for whom Lewis Hill replied.

Jason Evans netted the only goal as Faringdon Town Res won 1-0 at Saxton Rovers Res.

Harwell International Res lost 7-1 to Division 3 leaders Kintbury Rangers Res.

Luke Ramos and Jake Shearsby both scored twice with Josh Way, Ollie Chun and Neil Edwards grabbing one each. John Hedges hit the consolation for Harwell.

Goals from Alan Kilday, Matt Turl and Chris Parker gave Benson Lions a 3-2 home win over Hanney United for whom Matt Woodside and James Bishop scored.

Berinsfield Res led Division 4 leaders Turnpike Sports 4-0 with just 15 minutes remaining.

Charles Jamieson (2) Mennan Calvo and Dan Osbourne had given them the advantage, but goals from Mark Jones, Luke Johnson, Chris Maja and Mark Davies secured a 4-4 draw for Sports.

East Hendred Res cemented second spot with a 2-1 home win over Drayton Res.

James Higgs and Blake Latimer scored their goals with George Brewerton responding for Drayton.

Drew Farquharson netted for Benson AFC but they were held to a 1-1 draw by Grove Rangers, for whom Grant Summersbee scored.

Josh Dutton-Black hit a hat-trick for Kennington Athletic as they ran out 6-0 winners at Faringdon Town A.

A Foley Sercombe double and an Andy Dier strike completed their tally.

A Luke Williams double gave Ardington & Lockinge Res a 2-0 win at Hagbourne United, who are now bottom.

Uffington United enjoyed a 2-1 Division 5 win at home to Crowmarsh Gifford Res.

Martyn Newbold scored for the visitors but goals from Mark Jones and George Heath won the game for Uffington.

Radley Res are second following a 9-0 triumph at Appleton Stars.

Matt Hardwick notched a three-timer, Jamie Madge scored twice with Carl Goodenough, Adam Excell, William Wright and Brian Kerry also on the scoresheet.

Wallingford Town Res thumped Hagbourne United Res 9-1 at home.

Charlie Lee and Dave Woodley both hit hat-tricks alongside a Paul Powell double and a Martin Dawson effort, while McCauley Churton replied.

Dorchester saw off Didcot Eagles’ North Berks Cup third-round challenge 10-0 with Ben Curtis (4), Ross Lyons (2), Josh Nicholls (2), Bradley Cox and Joe Dixon netting.

Ardington & Lockinge edged Berinsfield 2-1 in extra time with Ollie O’Hanlon scoring the winner after Tom Weeks had equalised David Murphy’s opener.

Liam Humphries, Paul Hulme, Tom Denmead and Richard Evans scored for Faringdon Town as they won 4-0 at Crowmarsh Gifford Stanford in the Vale went down 5-1 at home to Saxton Rovers. Brad Gill netted their goal, but a Rob Andrews hat-trick and a Wayne Waldron double won it.

Sutton Courtenay lost 3-0 to Burghclere with Ross Lamonby, Kye Franklin and Christian Quick on target.

Division 2 leaders Abingdon United Res pulled off a second-round shock in the Charity Shield when they ousted Division 1 opponents Harwell International.

Ashley Fell, Dan Cox and Tom Larman all found the target in the 3-1 victory with Lee Chapman netting a consolation for Harwell.
