THERE has been little time to prepare for tonight’s game, but Mickey Lewis is well aware of Wrexham’s threat.

Most sides in FA Cup second round action would have had at least a fortnight to do their homework, but a postponement at Gateshead last month means Oxford United only booked their place four days ago.

Wrexham are in their sixth season since dropping out of League Two, but have reached the play-offs for the past three years and were 90 minutes away from a return to the Football League in May, before a 2-0 play-off final defeat to Newport County.

Lewis is full of respect for tonight’s hosts.

He said: “We know a little bit about them and they have quite an experienced team.

“They are a Football League club really, as far as most people are concerned.

“It’s a nice place to go and play, a good ground and normally the pitch is really good.

“They will be really up for it, as Gateshead were.”
