MARK Creighton has called time on his playing career after struggling to recover from a series of injuries.

The 32-year-old’s one full season at Oxford United coincided with their promotion from the Conference.

‘The Beast’ made 40 appearances in the 2009/10 campaign, playing 90 minutes in the play-off final victory at Wembley.

The centre back later moved to Wrexham, but after seriously injuring a knee last year, he never regained full fitness.

Wrexham boss Andy Morrell said: “He’s been a big part of our changing room, both on and off the pitch, so he’s going to be a big void to fill.”
