Alex Davies and Chris Cook form a new half-back pairing as London Welsh make nine changes for today’s Greene King Championship IPA clash with Jersey at St Peter (2).

Davies replaces Gordon Ross, who had started every league game so far, at fly half, while Cook comes in for Rob Lewis at No 9 as the sides meet for the first time.

Only Seb Jewell, Seb Stegmann, Peter Browne, Mitch Lees, Carl Kirwan and captain Tom May remain from the side that lost 13-5 to London Scottish.

Alan Awcock comes in at outside centre, with Tom May moving to No 12 jersey in place of Sonny Parker. Joe Ajuwa is named on the wing ahead of Nick Scott.

Nathan Trevett, Nathan Morris and James Tideswell make up a new-look front row. Lees moves from lock to blindside flanker.

Kirwan shifts to No 6, with Mike Denbee starting at openside flanker and Ollie Stedman at No 8.

Prop Billy Moss will make his 50th appearance for Welsh should he come off the bench.

“It’s something I aimed to do a lot earlier, but sometimes things don’t go your way,” said Moss, who joined the Exiles in 2011.

“Things didn’t go that well for me last season, but I’ve been involved a bit more this year.

“I enjoyed the last two British & Irish Cup games – I got lots of game time and I’m just looking to press on from that.”

Tom Fidler gets a start in Jersey’s front row, with fellow loose-head Sean McCarthy moving to the bench.

Nick Campbell replaces Dave Markham at lock.

Jersey’s starting backs are unchanged, but Nicky Griffiths is on the bench after injury.
