Justin Burnell says that victory in tomorrow's fixture at Ealing Trailfinders is vital ahead of a pivotal few weeks.

Welsh have not played since beating promotion-chasing Rotherham Titans 47-16 at the Kassam Stadium on February 9.

And with the four matches after this weekend against teams just outside the play-off positions, Welsh’s head coach knows the importance of the game.

“Saturday is the beginning of a very important few weeks, with Moseley, Cornish Pirates, Bedford Blues and London Scottish to come over consecutive weekends,” said Burnell.

“We’re getting closer and closer to the business end of the season. This is what it's all about and it’s all hands to the pump.

“Saturday is also St David’s Day and that’s a massive thing for us.

“A lot of proud Welsh men will be there and we want to make it a very special day.”

Burnell makes three changes to his starting line-up, with James Tincknell, Nick Scott and Tom Bristow – returning to Welsh on a dual registration from Leicester Tigers – all coming in.

Sonny Parker, Alan Awcock and Nathan Trevett make way.

On the bench, USA Eagles fly half Toby L’Estrange is in line for a first appearance, while on-loan London Wasps No 8 Rory Pitman also features.
