A BIG crowd is expected at the Kassam Stadium tomorrow to coincide with Oxford United Fans Day.
An attendance in excess of 8,000 – comfortably the biggest of the season so far – will watch the clash with Portsmouth, who have sold their 2,500-strong allocation.
The fixture has been earmarked by supporter group the Yellow Army in an attempt to create a memorable atmosphere.
Joe Nicholls, who helped get the annual Fans Day started, said: “It is all about uniting fans behind Oxford United and encouraging every fan to be part of it, to help get a big crowd and atmosphere.
“The spirit around the club is something to be proud of, and we as fans are a part of that.
“We hope as many fans as possible can be there on Saturday to get behind Oxford United to show unity as fans.”
Darryl Eales, United’s chairman, said: “Working with the Yellow Army it’s a fantastic opportunity for fans to get down here and create a really special environment.
“In particular it would be brilliant if fans can bring a friend or a lapsed supporter and really make the stadium rock.
“It makes such a difference to the players and I think now there is a real bond between them and the fans.”
