Midfielders Kat Nutman and Ella Franklin-Fraiture have signed new deals for Oxford United ahead of their forthcoming FA Women’s Super League 2 campaign.

Nutman, 23, signed for the U’s in 2013 while a student at Oxford University, having previously represented England at under 15 and under 17 level.

“I’m very happy to have committed to another season, and excited to help build a solid foundation for the future of the football club,” she said.

Franklin-Fraiture, 18, came through United’s youth programme, having joined at the age of ten from Summertown Stars, before becoming a regular in last season’s campaign.

Franklin-Fraiture said: “I am very happy to have been offered a contract and can’t wait to continue growing as both a team and a player.”

Manager Les Taylor said: “Ella is another product of our successful youth department, having progressed through the age groups to first-team level.

“She made 19 appearances for the first team last season and has only just turned 18, so is a tremendous prospect.”

Taylor added: “Kat has been a virtual ever-present in the starting line up for the past two seasons.

“She is consistent, reliable and a valuable member of the team.

“I am delighted that Kat has signed.”

Meanwhile, United’s talented defender Riva Casley has been named in the 20-strong England Under 17 squad who travel to Los Angeles next month for the U17 Women’s NTC Invitational.

Casley, who has starred for Oxford’s under 17 side this season, could line up for the Young Lionesses against the USA, Japan and South Korea.
