WOOTTON & Boars Hill were one of only a handful of teams to be involved in a result in the OCA League, as the rain failed to rescue them from an eight-wicket defeat at home to Marsh Gibbon on Saturday.

Joe Leonard took 5-22 as Wootton were shot out for 112, before Stuart Leonard hit 46 not out to lead Marsh to 115-2.

Steven Hunt’s unbeaten 50 was in vain for Chadlington at East & West Hendred, where the match was called off with Chadlington 165-4.

Witney Swifts were denied at home to Clifton Hampden, who were 125-8 when the rain came.

In Division 4, Hailey declared on 209-7 in a bid to seal a result at home to Dorchester.

Will Anastasiadis took 5-60 for the visitors, but there was no chance of a reply.

Will Wright took 6-29 for West Ilsley to help dismiss hosts Sunningwell for 86 before the rain, while Uffington were staring down the barrel having been shot out for 68 at home to Minster Lovell, only for the bad weather to rescue them.

In Division 5, Kennington saw off hosts Garsington by 30 runs.

Kennington set only 97-7 in a 30-overs match, but 3-2 from Russell Vircavs and 3-23 from Duncan Robson tumbled Garsington out for just 67.

On Sunday, Julian Easterbrook took 4-21 in Garsington’s 63 all out, and Bampton reached 64-7 to seal victory.

In Division 6, Radley 2nd lost to Wolvercote 2nd by ten wickets on Saturday before the rain arrived.

Toby Shelley (4-11) and Jason Elliott (3-19) combined to skittle Radley out for 35, before Wolvercote raced to 36-0 in Division 8.

Ryan Wastie’s 4-18 reduced the hosts to 104 , despite 50 from John Hyde.

Charlie Waite (55no) was then the star for Stanton as his knock help them to 105-6.
