NIGEL Hume smashed an incredible 46-ball century as Faringdon thrashed visitors Minster Lovell between the showers to maintain their unbeaten record in Division 1 of the OCA League.

With a start delayed by rain, the match was reduced to 30 overs per side, visitors Minster were bowled out for 138, Connor Tinsley top-scoring with 42, and Ben Marks taking 3-28 for the hosts.

But Faringdon were in a hurry in their reply to win before the rain returned, and Hume’s century, plus Rob Owen’s 36no, saw them to a ten-wicket win in just 12.4 overs.

Shrivenham saw off visitors Yarnton & Cowley by six wickets.

Tari Dogra claimed 6-31 to restrict Yarnton to 136-9, before youngster Charan Chahal hit 71 in Shrivenham’s 137-4.

Only one match survived the weather in Division 2, as Wootton & Boars Hill beat hosts Clifton Hampden by 29 runs in a match reduced to 25 overs a side.

Shaun Morton hit 42 and James Studds 38 not out in Wootton’s 153-4, before Martin Bungay claimed 4-35 as Clifton were bowled out for 124, Morley Benson hitting 45.

West Ilsley beat Division 4 leaders Swinbrook by six wickets.

Tim Martin (42) and Tom Julian (40) took Swinbrook to 136-8 in their 25 overs.

Wayne Lyford, who earlier claimed 3-19, then scored 97 not out to steer West Ilsley to 140-4.

The target score method saw Sunningwell run out five-wicket winners against Deddington.

The visitors set 125-9 in their rain-reduced 35 overs, Maneesh Verma top-scoring with 40 and James Stacey taking 3-30.

Rain again intervened, knocking ten overs off Sunningwell’s reply, but chasing a revised target of 98 in 25 overs, Sunningwell reached 99-5 as Stacey hit 52.

Watlington edged out hosts Minster Lovell 2nd by three runs in a thrilling low-scoring clash.

Chris Allen (36) and Jake Leach (32) helped Watlington to 117-7 in very wet conditions.

Ollie Mersh (32), Henry Crowther (30no) and Zac Jarvis (30) all batted well for Minster, but they closed on 114-5.

Hailey crashed to 43 all out in wet conditions at Uffington, Martin Key taking 4-22.

Tom Fillery then hit 34 not out as Uffington raced to 46-0.

In Division 8, the target score method allowed Chadlington 2nd to wrap up a 74-run win at home to Sunningwell 2nd.

James Smith hit a brilliant 96 as Chadlington racked up an impressive 197-7 in extremely tough conditions, Colin Thorpe taking 4-27 for the visitors.

Rain saw Sunningwell’s target revised to 135 from 25 overs, but they fell to 61 all out as veteran Glenn McCallum took 3-24 and George Hill, 13, starred with 4-8.

Dorchester 2nd beat visitors Marcham 2nd by 78 runs.

Ian Ferris hit 55 and Chris Rudling 35 as Dorchester posted 179-7, Gary Butler taking 3-56.

Lucas Pugh claimed 4-23 and Tom Ferris 3-20 as Marcham slumped to 101 all out in reply.

In Division 9, Chesterton beat visitors Hanney 2nd by eight wickets.

Hanney were restricted to 86-7 in a reduced 25 overs, Philip Austin hitting 53 not out and Daren Trinder taking 3-7.

Chesterton needed 21 overs to reach the target, helped by Adrian Brooker’s 33 not out.

Kennington 2nd beat hosts Deddington 2nd by 12 runs on the target score method.

They posted 104-8 in the bowler friendly conditions, but chasing a revised target of 100 in 42 overs, Deddington fell for 88 as John Williams took 4-40 and Altaf Ali 3-10.

Hanney 2nd shocked Combe with a 31-run victory to reach the semi-finals of the OCA League’s Osberton Radiators Cup.

The match was reduced to 35 overs per side, and Hanney struggled on the wet pitch to post 120-9, thanks largely to Phillip Austin’s 61.

Steve Evans took 4-35 for Combe, who were then tumbled out for 89 as John Bedwell took 3-18 and Jerry May 3-26.
