CLIFTON Hampden cruised into the semi-finals of the OCA League’s Airey Cup with a nine-wicket win at Marsh Gibbon.

Laurence Harvey claimed 4-11 as Clifton dismissed their hosts for 72, before David Pimm hit 33 not out to steer them home.

Wootton & Boars Hill crashed out with a 111-run defeat at home to Division 1 high-fliers Minster Lovell.

In reply to Minster’s 215, Wootton were shot out for 104 by Jack Simpson (5-23) and Brian Barrett (4-18).

In the Steve Dixon Cup quarter-final, East Hendred 2nd lost to Kidlington 2nd by 83 runs on the Target Score method.

Kidlington posted 257 all out,. After rain, Hendred’s target was revised to 224, but they were held to 141-9.

Faringdon maintained their unbeaten record to stay clear at the top of Division 1 as they beat visitors Stonesfield by four wickets on Saturday.

Alex Robinshaw (5-28) and Ben Marks (4-52) combined to dismiss Stonesfield for 146, and then Rob Owen hit 84 to steer Faringdon to 147-6.

Shrivenham crushed hosts Radley by 156 runs. Charan Chahal hit 73 and Steve Bowles 56 not out as Shrivenham racked up 238-6.

Conor Taylor then bowled with great pace in a spell of 5-59, restricting Radley to 82-9, with key batsman Shoaib Ahmed unable to bat for the home side due to injury.

Division 2 leaders East & West Hendred fell to their first defeat of the season as hosts Broughton & North Newington won by five wickets.

Clifton Hampden walloped Chadlington by nine wickets after the visitors were skittled out for 43 by Alistair Slay (5-23) and Laurence Harvey (4-12).

In Division 4, Alex Dibble’s 6-44 was in vain for West Ilsley as Watlington ran out 46-run winners.

The batsmen had a field day at Kidlington 2nd, as Hanney ran out five-wicket winners in Division 6.

There were three century-makers in the match. Simon Smith (115no) and Sahil Kalyan (103no) helped Kidlington to 259-1 in their 45 overs. But Hanney were undaunted as they reached 260-5, with James Hilliam hitting 102 not out.

Adam Taylor hit an unbeaten century for Shrivenham 2nd in their 98-run win at Oxenford 2nd.

Taylor smashed 121 not out and Matthew Harris 76 in Shrivenham’s 244-5. Michael Ray then took 4-39 to help dismiss Oxenford for 146.

There was an exciting tie between East & West Hendred 2nd and Radley 2nd. Hendred set 193-9 as Ian Clewley top-scored with 54, Richard Cook taking 4-36 for Radley.

Arfaan Nawaz (36), Basharat Rana (34) and Rezwan Rana (30) led Radley’s reply which ended on 193-9.

Steventon ran out eight-wicket winners at home to Faringdon 2nd. Phil Armstrong took 4-43 in Faringdon’s 119 all out, before hitting 40 to steer his side to 120-2.

In Division 8, Raj Kumar took six wickets to help Risinghurst 2nd to a four-wicket win at Marcham 2nd.

Dismissing Marcham for 104, Kumar taking 6-24, Risinghurst sealed victory at 108-6.

Chalgrove easily defeated visitors Sunningwell 2nd by 103 runs.

Tom McDermott top-scored with 44 in Chalgrove’s 181 all out, before Edward Gray claimed 3-24 as Sunningwell were bowled out for 78.

Steve Lewis (74) and Phillip Austin (61) helped Hanney to 247-6 to set up a 134-run win at home to Swinbrook 2nd.

Kennington 2nd edged past visitors Westcott 2nd by 18 runs in a low-scoring clash.

They were all out for just 91, but 3-14 for Salis Ali and Gordon Fogg helped to bowl Westcott out for 73.
