FARINGDON maintained their title bid with a five-wicket win at home to Chipping Norton in OCA League Division 1 last Saturday, setting up a showdown with Minster Lovell this Saturday.

Ben Marks took 5-21 and Ian Oglesby 3-14 as Chippy were shot out for 73, and then Nigel Hume hit 33 in Faringdon’s 76-5.

Radley lost by nine wickets at home to Stonesfield.

Tim Wyatt hit 103 not out as Stonesfield eased to 168-1 after bowling their hosts out for 163.

Mark Baring took 6-35 for East & West Hendred as they beat visitors Wootton & Boars Hill by four wickets to maintain their Division 2 title bid.

Baring’s haul helped to dismiss Wootton for 140, Nik King scoring 55. Andy Francis (39no) and Jon Francis (36) then led Hendred to 141-6.

Clifton Hampden went down by 47 runs to Broughton & North Newington.

Stuart Walton (75) and Clark Berry (56) helped Broughton to 231-9, before Clifton were bowled out for 184, Julian Hitchman hitting 57.

Barry Martin hit 68 and took 3-9 to help Wantage to an 89-run victory at Marsh Gibbon.

Marcham had no answer to Waqas Ur-Rehman, who played a key role Westcott’s eight-wicket away win.

He took 6-43 to dismiss Marcham for just 113, before hitting 44 not out as Westcott eased home at 117-2.

Watlington closed the gap on Division 4 leaders Risinghurst to 30 points to keep alive their slim hopes with a four-wicket win.

Risinghurst were restricted to 117-5 in a match reduced to 28 overs a side.

Owen Lewis (46no) and Dave Hansford (42) saw Watlington to victory in the final over.

James Stacey hit 130 not out to help Sunningwell to a 49-run win at Minster Lovell 2nd on the Target Score method.

Stacey’s knock and 71 from Sam Baker saw Sunningwell to 245-3.

Minster’s target was reduced to 237 after rain, but they were held to 188-7.

Dorchester declared on 200-1 at Swinbrook before wrapping up a 112-run win.

Adrian Redhead hit 103 not out and Steve McComb 87 in Dorchester’s innings, before Thom Airs claimed 4-37 as Swinbrook crashed to 88 all out.

Uffington defeated visitors West Ilsley by 95 runs in a match reduced to 30 overs per side.

Martin Key hit 82 in Uffington’s 174-6, and then Adam Shorten took 3-19 and Peter Jones 3-22 to restrict West Ilsley to only 79-7.

Britwell Salome cruised past hosts West Witney by nine wickets in Division 5.

Neil Lawrence was the star, taking 6-32 in West Witney’s 105 all out, before Stuart Symes (60no) led Britwell to 106-1.

In Division 6, Hanney eased to a 130-run victory at home to Wolvercote 2nd.

The home side set 211-7, Daniel Bradley top-scoring with 45.

Alex Simms then took 4-33 as Wolvercote were all out for 81, but they collected enough bonus points to secure the title.

Radley 2nd all-but wrapped up the runners-up spot with a 114-run win at home to Shrivenham 2nd.

Ashley Pike’s 104 and Davison Matthews’ 73 helped Radley to 245-8, and then Imran Khan took 3-19 in Shrivenham’s 131.
