ROB Hall has been ruled out of Wednesday's Checkatrade Trophy semi-final, but Oxford United are upbeat the winger's injury is minor.
The sight of the 23-year-old coming off was the only negative from Saturday's 4-0 win at Chesterfield.
Hall tweaked a hamstring early in the second half, prompting fears he could be ruled out for several weeks.
United can ill-afford to lose a player who has been key to their strong run of form, but after assessing the problem today, the medical department were upbeat.
While Hall will not be risked for the visit to Luton Town, where the winners will secure a place at Wembley, there is a chance he could feature when Bristol Rovers visit the Kassam Stadium in Sky Bet League One this weekend.
U's head coach Michael Appleton said: "At the minute we suspect it’s just bad tightness.
"We don’t think there’s a tear there, but we are very cautious.
"I don’t think he’s got any chance for Wednesday, but we are more hopeful for Saturday.
"But with hamstrings the way they are, we won’t be taking any chances with him."
