OXFORD United loanee Phil Edwards has been released by Burton Albion at the end of his contract.

The 31-year-old was signed on a temporary deal by the U's last August as cover at right back while Christian Ribeiro recovered from a broken ankle.

Edwards went on to make 51 appearances for Michael Appleton, scoring five goals.

He joined the Brewers in 2013, but has not been offered a new deal and is now a free agent after Nigel Clough's side stayed up in the Sky Bet Championship.
