CLARE Mowforth starred as White Horse Harriers won the ladies team prize at the Hanney 5.

She finished as the first female in 52nd overall, crossing in a time of 32mins 33secs.

Rachel Bennett, Suzie Sheehy and Ros Burgess were also part of the Harriers team.

Abingdon finished just a place behind, with Chloe Ridewood the second female home in a personal best of 32.54.

Lucy Shelton and Cordelia Halfhead also produced strong performances.

Clubmate Owen Stepney came third overall, helping the men finish top of their respective competition, alongside James Clayton, Thomas Coney and David Smyth.

Meanwhile, Paul Fernandez, of Abingdon, represented Britain at the Fuxian Lake Highland Ultramarathon 50k in China, crossing tenth in 3hrs 48mins.
