BLEWBURY reached the quarter-finals of the North Berks League War Memorial Cup with a 3-1 victory over Cholsey United, writes RICHARD UNDERWOOD.

Goals from Arran Gray (2) and John Robinson saw the Division 2 high-fliers book their place in the last eight.

Mickey Bone hit back for the Division 3 side.

Watlington Town Res hammered Steventon Res 8-2 in one of only a handful of fixtures to survive Saturday’s freeze.

The Division 4 clash saw Watlington take an early lead through Steve Outten, and they doubled the lead when Ryan Jesson fired in.

Ashley Dixon netted twice in quick succession before Tom Bowden made it 5-0 before the break.

In the second half, Chris Bennett pulled two goals back through Chris Bennett and Phil Barton, but further strikes from Bowden, who completed a hat-trick, and Sam Carter-Knight, wrapped up the crushing victory.

Berinsfield Res defeated Hanney 66 4-2 as Shane Harris, Iain Pledge, Jon Welch and Michael Hinkin found the target.

Hanney replied through Adam Day and Luke Ulyatt.

In Division 1, North Oxford were beaten 4-1 by Lambourn Sports.

John Peach grabbed a hat-trick, with Dan Bond also on the mark.

Sadiq Hamis hit back for North Oxford.

Stanford-in-the-Vale drew 2-2 with Steventon.

Josh Vaughan and Bradley Hammond were on target for Stanford, while Steventon replied through Alex Dawson (2).

In the only Division 2 game to survive the freeze, Saxton Rovers Res beat Crowmarsh 5-2 to go back to the top.

Lewis Bloomfield (2), Kyle Allsworth, Harry Chadwick and Patrick Mannix found the target, with Jon Fanstone and John Rixon scoring for Crowmarsh.

East Hendred Res went nine points clear at the top of Division 3 with a 1-0 win over Wallingford Town A, Liam Eltham scoring the only goal.

Marcham and Drayton battled out a 1-1 draw as Stuart Armstrong’s strike for Marcham was cancelled out by a Sandy Bolton effort.

Nick Townsend hit a hat-trick for Long Wittenham Res as they beat Hagbourne United 5-0.

Steve Malloy added the others.

Letcombe Res saw off Uffington United 4-0 thanks to a brace from Reece Winslet and further goals from Chris Pocock and Angelo Fragata.
