PEP Clotet's spell out of football has ended with his appointment as assistant manager at Birmingham City.

The Spaniard was sacked as Oxford United boss in January, less than seven months after being appointed.

But he has reunited with Garry Monk, with whom he worked at Swansea City and Leeds United, to replace Steve Cotterill at St Andrews.

They take over with the Blues in the Sky Bet Championship relegation zone.

Meanwhile, six weeks on from Clotet's departure, the U's search for his replacement continues.
