EDDIE Pepperell carded a brilliant five-under-par 66 to finish tied 14th at the Rocco Forte Open in Sicily.

The Frilford Heath member finished on eight under par for the tournament to take home €13,817 in prize money.

Pepperell’s return to form after two missed cuts since winning the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters in February is timely ahead of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth later this month.

The World No 99 headed into today’s final round on three under after shooting a one-under-par 69 yesterday.

Despite dropping a shot at the par-five second, Pepperell produced an excellent display.

Birdies at the third, fourth, eighth and ninth saw the 27-year-old move to six under.

He picked up further shots at the tenth and 12th as he shot one of the lowest rounds of the day to claim only his second top-20 finish of the year.

Joakim Lagergren triumphed, beating Mike Lorenzo-Vera in a play-off.
