ANDY Ballard remains hopeful of a quick solution to the farcical structure of next season’s Evo-Stik South League.

The Railwaymen appealed to the Football Association at the end of last week about remaining in the West Division for the 2018/19 campaign.

Moving into the East would reduce Didcot’s travelling by 600 miles.

Manager Ballard admitted on Tuesday the club may have to accept the situation after Cinderford Town – located just 14 miles from Wales – were switched to the West Division following the withdrawal of Andover Town.

But the Railwaymen have now joined forces with Evesham United, who have appealed to being placed in the East section, in order to find a solution.

Ballard said: “The club haven’t heard back from the FA following our original appeal.

“We have therefore contacted the South League in conjunction with Evesham as they wish to move back to the West.

“I’d personally like to get this sorted as soon as possible so we can organise for the coming season.”
