ABINGDON’S Noel Blatchford returned to winning ways when clinching veteran 70 gold at the European Non-stadia Championships in Alicante, Spain.

Representing Great Britain, she triumphed in the 20km race walk and was also part of the victorious vet 60 team.

Meanwhile, clubmate Sarah Dudgeon took part in the Strava Media Mile at the Night of the 10,000pbs held at Highgate Harriers, Parliament Hill, alongside Great Britain and Oxford City AC middle-distance runner Hannah England.

Dudgeon was among a number of athletes chased down by the 31-year-old, who gave them a 45-second start.

At the Thames Run 5K, Harrison Read took victory ahead of fellow Abingdon runner Max Livingstone-Learmonth.

Dudgeon was the first lady home in fifth overall.

Abingdon’s Steve Pomeroy set a club record of 3,187 points when winning the veteran 55 category at the MMTG Throwers Pentathlon Championships in Derby.
