EDDIE Pepperell fell well off the pace at the KLM Open today after a disappointing second round.
The Abingdon golfer shot a one-over-par 72 in Spijk, leaving him down the field on four-under.
Pepperell, starting at the tenth, was three-over after ten holes, failing to card a birdie.
However, he picked up a shot at the par-four third - his 12th - and then a superb eagle got him back to level for the day.
But a bogey at the next saw him slip back, and after finishing with two pars the Frilford Heath member was left with a mountain to climb if he is to challenge at the top of the leaderboard in his quest to try to achieve a world top-50 ranking by the end of the season.
