Abingdon Town made it back-to-back wins with a tense 1-0 victory at home to new boys Marlow United on Tuesday.
The narrow victory moved Abnngdon up to the heady heights of tenth in the FTL Futbol Hellenic League Premier Division.
Defender Louis George scored the all-important goal after 25 minutes.
After Nick Flint had struck a shot against the woodwork, Drew Fowler whipped in a free-kick from the left flank and George slid in to meet at the near post and direct the ball into the net.
The hosts went close to doubling the lead ten minutes from time when Ryan Brooks curled a free-kick against the crossbar, before defender Paul Alder's long-range effort went just wide.
Abingdon had secured their first league win on Saturday when winning 2-1 at Wantage Town with early goals from Carl Bloomfield and Jason Thomas.
It was a tense ending though as Liam McCullough pulled one back for the hosts in the 77th minute.
Abingdon had an early scare when Danny Keen hit the bar with a speculative lob, with keeper Gareth Walker beaten.
The tide turned and Richard Wells set up Bloomfield to open his account in the 13th minute.
Then Town skipper Thomas crashed home a stunning volley five minutes later.
Wantage showed some fighting spirit in the second half and Keen had a good chance in a goalmouth scramble.
Then midfielder Danny Allen beat three defenders, crossed to McCullough, who slotted neatly past Walker.
Abingdon defended deeply for the last ten minutes and Walker was on hand on several occasion to deny Wantage an equaliser.
Leaders Letcombe scored six goals for the third successive Division 1 match when they beat Winterbourne United 6-4 in an extraordinary contest on Saturday.
There were four penalties in all, while Richard Claydon struck a four-timer for Letcombe.
Jimmy Potts did likewise for Winterbourne - three of them from the spot - yet he finished on the losing side!
Peter Horswell put Letcombe ahead in the fifth minute against last season's champions, then Tom Broad scored a second with a crisp volley.
Potts scored the first penalty in the 29th minute after a handball.
Claydon then netted his first, hitting the post but burying the rebound before Potts converted another penalty to keep Winterbourne in it.
Claydon hit back and scored from the penalty spot after Mark Denny had been fouled to make it 4-2 at half-time.
Potts completed his hat-trick soon after the restart, and Claydon matched his treble soon after.
His fourth came from a direct free-kick on the hour.
But two minutes later Winterborne had their third penalty -after a Adam Pendell tug - that Potts converted to complete the scoring.
