FOOTBALL: Greenaway is Saxton's star

Adam Greenaway’s double helped holders Saxton Rovers to a 4-1 victory over Lambourn Sports in the North Berks Charity Cup second round, writes Phil Annets.

Greenaway and Mark Druce put Saxton 2-0 up at half-time.

Substitute Tom Larman hit No 3, before Danny Crawford pulled one back.

Saxton’s Tom Aldsworth was sent off for violent conduct after a scuffle broke out following a clash between Craig Pearce, of Lambourn, and Druce.

Greenaway then sealed victory with his second.

Saxton will face old foes Faringdon Town in the last eight.

Ben Taylor scored a last-minute winner for Division 1 side Wootton & Dry Sandford in a 4-3 victory against Division 3 outfit Bampton Town.

George Seacole bagged a double for Bampton, with an Adams Brooks own goal completing their tally, while Jonathan Weir scored twice for Sandford and set one up for Tom Srawley.

Steve Molloy’s double gave Long Wittenham Athletic a 2-1 victory against Steventon. Stuart Coppock replied.
