Ian Sampson struck an equaliser deep into stoppage time as Didcot Town drew 1-1 at home to Nuneaton Town in the Zamaretto Southern League Premier Division on Tuesday.

His superb free-kick went in off the post to level a match in which Didcot had largely been under the cosh.

The kick-off was delayed after Nuneaton kitman Alan Cooper died en route to the game.

Nuneaton went ahead through Chris Dillon on 23 minutes and Rob Foster struck the crossbar.

Alex Stanley headed a good chance over the bar for Didcot, but they were still relieved with the point.
