Two goals by Mark Simms helped Abingdon Town cruise into the quarter-finals of the Bluefin Insurance Brokers Cup against their lowly Division 1 East opponents.

Abingdon took the lead when Danny Thomas was hacked down from behind, and top scorer Graham Edney smashed in the penalty.

On the half-hour mark, Eton Wick’s keeper dropped a cross which fell to Simms to tap home.

With 15 minutes to go Simms netted his second.

Abingdon will be at home to Shrivenham in the last eight.
