Banbury 2nd opener Ed Phillips suffered the double disappointment of being out for 99 and then seeing his side lose and be knocked off top spot by Buckingham Town.
Phillips added 137 with Chris Board (62) as the morning leaders compiled 227-7 at White Post Road.
But Town made light work of the run chase thanks to skipper Rob Large (75), Dan Harris (47) and then Kiwi Jimad Khan (80) to close out an eight-wicket win.

Oxford Downs claimed their first win for a month to keep in touch with the top two, but were made to work hard by a resurgent Milton Keynes Park.
Chris Sandbach (4-22) and Calum Taylor (3-19) combined to good effect as Park, who climbed off the bottom of the table for the first time last week, struggled to 116.
James Sprittles then made Downs work hard for the runs, but despite his 3-43 they made their way to a four-wicket win.

Back to back wins have taken Shipton-under-Wychwood from eighth to fourth in two weeks, their latest success coming at Bicester & North Oxford.
Opener Steve Bates (66) led the way, and Omar Hussain (42) followed as Shipton made 203-8 from their 50 overs.
Bicester rarely relish a run chase and they fell short again despite a defiant 44 from Darryl Woods.
Leg spinner Dickon Morris took 4-60 as the hosts were all out for 156.

John Wright recovered from a scratchy start to hit 95 and set up Banbury Twenty's 50-run home win over Cumnor.
Rob Hastings (41no) finished Twenty's innings with a flourish, despite a tight spell from Dan Gaunt (3-19) in the final overs.
Chasing 207-6, the visitors were soon in trouble against Keith Arnold (5-51), and despite a resilient 47 from Jamie Douglas, they eventually fell for 157.

Great & Little Tew's Tasmanian Anthony Smith smashed 77 and then took 5-38, but his heroics failed to force a win at Dinton.
Tew's 235 all out was built around Dave Powles's 59 and came from exactly 49 overs.
The home side, therefore, had 51 overs in reply, but only Ashley Smith (50) showed any form and in the end they were clinging on for a draw with the score on 168-9.
- Dinton 17, Great & Little Tew 19
